Meet “Zonen-Gaby”¬† from the Germany Democratic Republic. This year the “Mauerfall” is 25 years ago and I saw this legendary magazine-cover from 1989 in today’s newspaper. ;)

The cover takes a pun at traditional media of the time, that portrayed the new Germans with western consumer goods and western products reducing new found freedom to, well, consumption.

New Towns Institute

by urbanusdonatus

A PROMO for New Town institute, not because they are not known, but because they are great:

They do things like mapping New Towns since the very beginning of civilization and much of other city life related research.

“The International New Town Institute (INTI) is a non-profit scientific knowledge institute. INTI is dedicated to improving the quality of global urban development, with a focus on New Towns. INTI is independent and not necessarily an advocate or promotor of New Town planning.”

Overall it’s very very good¬†platform for knowledge in Urbanism and also getting inspired.

Compare an ideal of the sixties to an ideal of today….. I recommend the tiny house at 27:30 in Manhattan.
